The cultural tourism industry has been developing since 1994 in Jizhou, and it has now become its leading industry, and is closely tied to the economic development and rising living standards of the local people. 

This year, trans-regional tourism has been restricted due to the pandemic; the amount of tourists has dropped overwhelmingly, thereby causing a decrease in income for the local people. Under these circumstances, Jizhou has taken the following measures to reduce the negative impacts: enhancing infrastructure construction and planning new tourism products; helping enterprises to receive financial support; organizing travel promotional activities and strengthening publicity campaigns.

Facing the fierce competition of B&Bs, Jizhou launched a three-year action plan to transform countryside hotels, which consists of promoting the upgrade of countryside hotels, improving corporate governance, and enhancing the infrastructure construction of scenic areas.

In addition to demonstrating the historical story of the Great Wall and the spirit of patriotism, Jizhou insists upon the scientific management of the Huangyaguan Great Wall, making further contributions in building the regional cultural brand of Tianjin.
