Jizhou district will step up efforts to repair and protect local precious cultural relics this year, including the maintenance of the White Pagoda and the Dule Temple.
Sticking to the protection principles of keeping the cultural relics in their original state with a minimum of intervention, the district's cultural relics protection department, under the guidance of experts, will conduct whitewashing and repair wooden components and accessories for the White Pagoda to ensure the authenticity and integrity of its cultural relics and historical environment.
The project has a total investment of 1.1 million yuan ($174,083) and is expected to be completed by the end of May this year.
Jizhou district will also renovate the former headquarters of the Beiping-Tianjin Campaign.
